Rahul Banerjee made his silver screen debut with Raj Chakraborty's film, "Chirodini Tumi Je Amar". The film was a blockbuster hit at the box office. Yet, after that project, Rahul and Raj were never seen working together in any other film.

Recently, the actor opened up about Raj, making some serious allegations in the process against the "Shudhu Tomari Jonno" director.

Rahul commented on the trailer of Raj's upcoming venture, "Abar Proloy". In fact, he even accused the director of copying. "Someone who used to copy, is still copying," he wrote. He further added that Ritwick Chakraborty's look in "Abar Proloy" has been copied from Pankaj Tripathi's look in "Sacred Games".

After this, netizens immediately began reacting to Rahul's comments. Many were asking Rahul how he could say that about Raj, who was his first director. In an interview with an Indian news portal, Rahul elaborated on the entire matter.

According to Rahul, it does not matter even if he was the first director Rahul had worked with, something that is copied or stolen, will always be a copy. He would further go on to blame Raj for spreading false rumours about him and ruining his image in the industry.

According to Rahul, "Chirodini Tumi Je Amar" was released in August 2008. In January 2009, Raj gave an interview to the most circulated newspaper in Kolkata, where he alleged that Rahul was  dishonest. In the same interview, Raj had also shared that he would never work with Rahul in his life ever again, and that he hoped no one would cast Rahul in their projects as well.

Rahul then shared how his father, who was still alive back then, was extremely hurt after reading this news.

Following this, 15 years passed by and Rahul continued working in the industry. He claimed that no one in his career ever accused him of being dishonest. Many directors even cast him multiple times, with the actor eventually making a place for himself in the fraternity, through his hard work.

As a newcomer, Rahul was heartbroken after Raj's interview. He shared that he even suffered from severe depression as a result. "If I were a person who came from a rural area, who struggled all alone in the city, and if my parents and Priyanka did not support me, I could have been in the same situation as Sushant Singh Rajput," he shared in the interview.

When asked if he had ever talked with Raj about the matter, Rahul responded, "The matter which he brought up publicly, in front of 80 million people, would not be solved in any personal conversation."
