Mithila further emphasised that she has known Jaya for a long time, even before her marriage to Srijit, and sees no reason to make a fuss about their past.

Actress Jaya Ahsan has been cast in Srijit Mukherji's upcoming film "Doshom Obotar". The news has sparked conversations about their rumoured past relationship, which had previously garnered attention in the entertainment industries of both the countries. Srijit's wife, actress Rafiath Rashid Mithila, recently addressed the matter in an interview with the Hindustan Times.

Although Jaya had last worked with Srijit in "Ek Je Chilo Raja" five years ago, the two have since pursued separate projects. However, their reunion in "Doshom Obotar" has ignited curiosity among fans and media alike. When asked about it during a media interaction in Kolkata, Mithila responded with a light-hearted perspective, stating that rumours are common in the industry and should not hinder professional collaborations.

Mithila further emphasised that she has known Jaya for a long time, even before her marriage to Srijit, and sees no reason to make a fuss about their past.

"I have known Jaya Apa for a long time, even before Srijit. If I make a big deal out of this, then there will be no point. That's why I don't create any scenes out of this, and I won't in the future. I can't change someone's past," said Mithila.

She also acknowledged the importance of focusing on the present and maintaining a stable relationship, asserting that dwelling on the past only leads to unnecessary anger.

Mithila also addressed recent rumors about her own marriage, clarifying that disputes are a normal part of any relationship and that she and Srijit will share any significant updates with the public if necessary.

Meanwhile, Mithila's latest film "Mayaa", directed by Raajhorshee De and inspired by William Shakespeare's "Macbeth", was recently released in Kolkata. Portraying the title character, Mithila received praise from Srijit, who publicly commended her performance. Mithila expressed her happiness at receiving such appreciation from her husband, noting that it is a rare occurrence for him to publicly acknowledge her work.
