On July 13, Bangladeshi-born Canadian musician Ash Ravens performed at the Bluesfest down in Ottawa, Canada. Dubbed as one of Canada's biggest music festivals, Bluesfest has also carved out a niche for itself in the North American music festival scene.

At the festival, Ash Raven performed an original song called, "Tomar Gaan", that was penned for the artiste's mentor, Bangladeshi legend, Ayub Bachchu. The crowd, mostly North Americans, had the chance to immerse in Bangladeshi music perhaps for the first time at the festival. The news was confirmed by a Canadian expatriate and a musician.

Starting back in the early 90s, Bluesfest grew from a volunteer-run festival to one with headliners costing hundred thousand dollars. Artistes like Tom Petty, White Stripes, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Bob Dylan, Sting, Foo Fighters and more have performed here.

Before moving abroad, Ash Fahim, better known by his stage name Ash Ravens, was well settled with a corporate job. However, for his love of music, he pursued a degree in guitar performance from the Los Angeles College of Music.
