If you want to become viral, just talk about Shakib Khan: Apu Biswas
Yesterday, Apu Biswas took part in "Celebrity Night with Apu Biswas" in the US. The programme was hosted by Nawsheen Nahreen Mou, and the "Laal Saree" actress decided to throw a sly dig at Shakib Khan's haters at the programme.
The host asked Apu Biswas how criticism affects her and how she takes it.
"Criticisms are made on people who are doing great in their career. For e.g. if you add 'Shakib Khan' to your statement, you will instantly become viral. Many artistes have used this strategy and are continuing to do so till date," said Apu.
Upon hearing the answer, the host stated that this video would become viral as well, to which Apu replied, "I don't need to become viral as I make people viral."
The actor also talked about how quality movies are leading to increase in cinema halls in Bangladesh.
"This Eid many movies were released in theatres, and Alhamdulillah audiences are coming to theatres. When I entered the film industry, there were 700 cinema halls. Later, I had to leave movies to raise my son, Abraham. My physique and fitness became terrible after having a child and thus, I decided to stay away from theatres for quite some time. At that time, there were 50 cinema halls but now we have 200, and it is increasing," added the actor.
"I am really happy that films are being made and that a healthy competition is going on. However, amidst this healthy competition, some artistes are trying to make controversy, using his name to gain popularity. If anyone wants to become famous in the media, they only need to use Shakib's name. And that is why I think being talked about is important, and thus, I very much accept criticism gracefully," concluded the actor.
"Celebrity Night with Apu Biswas" was organised by Zoya Entertainment. The trailer of Apu Biswas' "Laal Saree" was showcased at the event. Singer Rizia Parveen and Dinat Jahan Munni also performed at the event.
