The first look of the series has already stirred excitement among the audience, offering a glimpse into a gripping tale of a love affair gone wrong, a forced marriage, and a mysterious death.

"Unishe April" takes us back to a sensational incident that unfolded in Kolkata in 1976, revolving around the mysterious death of Surupa Guhar, a housewife from a prestigious family in the city. The plot unveils an intense debate surrounding whether Surupa was a victim of foul play or if she tragically took her own life.

The film delves into the shocking revelation of the abuse suffered by a daughter-in-law within an educated family, sending shockwaves through the community. Initially, the in-laws faced imprisonment, but their release due to political influences left the case unresolved, leaving many unanswered questions.

The title of Arindam Sil's series serves as a tribute to the late Rituparno Ghosh, whose second feature film was also titled "Unishe April," starring Aparna Sen and Debasree Roy.

The stellar cast of the series includes Arunima Ghosh, Sauraseni Maitra, Indrasish Roy, and more. Arunima brilliantly portrays an actress, while Sauraseni takes on the role of a determined cop.

The web series will be streaming on the upcoming OTT platform of Camellia Productions soon.
