With four deaths from dengue in 24 hours till this morning, the total number of deaths from the disease this year reached 251.

Also, 2,694 new dengue cases were recorded during the same 24-hour period, taking the total number of cases to 51,832, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.

Of the new patients, 1,168 were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka.

A total of 9,386 dengue patients, including 5,011 in the capital, are now receiving treatment at hospitals across the country.

A total of 42,195 dengue patients have so far been released from hospitals this year.

The total number of deaths from dengue was 281 last year against the caseload of 62,382.
