The second season of "Loki" has unveiled its first trailer, giving fans a glimpse of Kang, portrayed by actor Jonathan Majors, despite recent controversies surrounding him.

Tom Hiddleston's "Loki" and Owen Wilson's Mobius M. Mobius from the Time Variance Authority return for this Marvel Studios live-action series, which marks the first Marvel series to receive a second season. The new season also welcomes Ke Huy Quan, the Oscar winner of "Everything Everywhere All at Once," and Rafael Casal from "Blindspotting" into the franchise.

"Loki" season 2 will pick up after the events of the MCU series' Season 1 finale, in which Sylvie (played by Sophia Di Martino) sent the universe into chaos by stabbing He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) — the Kang variant who created the TVA to protect the Sacred Timeline — in the heart. Loki (Hiddleston) as a result was transported to the TVA HQ of an alternate timeline in which he and Sylvie never teamed up.

The trailer's inclusion of Jonathan Majors addresses the question of how Disney would handle marketing for the show, considering the actor's role as a significant antagonist appearing in about half of the episodes.

Majors made his debut in the season one finale and is set to play a prominent role in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania" with a Kang-focused post-credits scene. However, his recent arrest in New York following a domestic dispute has been under scrutiny. Majors has denied any wrongdoing and is currently awaiting a court date scheduled for August 3.

Eric Martin leads as the head writer of Loki, while Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw, and Kasra Farahani will serve as directors.

Fans can look forward to streaming "Loki" season two on Disney Plus starting October 6.
