I will be forever indebted to Shakib Khan: Himel Ashraf
"Priyotoma" actor Shakib Khan and director Himel Ashraf recently watched the screening of their movie 'Priyotoma' in the US. Amidst a packed audience at Jamaica Multiplex Cinemas in New York, the duo watched the film together, reminiscing about their journey that led to this momentous occasion.
Himel Ashraf, shared a heartfelt video on social media, capturing the emotions of the special event. He expressed his gratitude to Shakib Khan for standing by him through thick and thin, even during times of media scrutiny and doubts about his filmmaking abilities.
"In 2017, I had to move to America for personal reasons after announcing my decision to make a movie. Throughout this time, Shakib Khan stood by me despite media criticism. Even when I was away, he would mention me at almost every movie event," the post reads.
The director recalled past bitter experiences, where skeptics questioned his potential to make successful films. However, Shakib Khan's unwavering belief in Himel and his constant support fueled the director's determination to prove himself.
"People doubted my abilities, calling me a drama director, but Shakib Bhai believed in me. He often encouraged me, saying I would become a great director one day. I don't know why he had such faith in me, but he always spoke about me confidently, even in my absence," he wrote.
As "Priyotoma" screened in the theatre, Himel couldn't help but be moved by Shakib Khan's triumphant smile. It was a silent acknowledgement of the unspoken journey they had traveled together. A journey filled with trust, encouragement, and the unbreakable bond between a director and actor.
"Today, as we watched "Priyotoma," he looked at me with teary eyes, smiled, and put his hand on my shoulder, expressing so much without words. Seeing his triumphant smile, I kept thanking him silently," he wrote, recalling the moment.
"Due to Shakib Khan's busy schedule, I may not be able to work with him soon, but Himel Ashraf, a director, will be forever indebted to Shakib Khan," he concluded.
The journey of 'Priyotoma' doesn't end there. After winning hearts in the US and Canada, the film is all set to charm audiences in Australia, New Zealand, and France.
