Razzak’s name will endure as long as cinema exists in Bangladesh: Babita

The iconic duo of Nayak Raj Razzak and Babita consistently captivated the hearts of Bangladeshi audiences with their remarkable on-screen chemistry. The two artistes' first pairing dates back to the 1970s film "Taka Ana Pai". Since then, they have graced the Bangladeshi film industry and its audience with a plethora of exceptional productions, such as "Pitch Dhala Path" (1968), "Alor Michil" (1974), and "Biroho Betha" (1988), among many others.

Amongst their notable works, " Swaralipi" (1970) and "Ononto Prem" (1977) made the pair a hit to the audience.

Today marks the 6th death anniversary of the legendary actor Nayak Raj Razzak. Remembering him in her heart, renowned actor Babita reminisced the memories with the actor to The Daily Star.

"If I have to describe Razzak in a word, then I would say that he's like an institute of the film industry," shares the "Ashani Sanket" famed actress. "This is an unsurpassable achievement. He was extremely dedicated to elevating our film industry. His acting career is undeniable proof of this."

"Razzak was like a guardian, a friend and a brother to me. I was also very close with his family and even we would often hang out together, " she continued.

Babita credits Razzak as one of the actors who truly transformed her acting career.

Honouring the legacy of the silver screen legend

She reflected, "Razzak wasn't just my leading man; he had collaborated with several other actresses, including my elder sister. He's undeniably one of the actors who significantly propelled my career in the film industry." She also added that, it is heartening to see that even a new generation of audiences is now appreciating the films they created in the past.

Babita often reminisces on her memories with the legendary actor. "Razzak consistently had our nation's cinema in his thoughts, channeling his heart and dedication towards the advancement of the film industry."

"Razzak's name will endure for as long as cinema exists in Bangladesh," she said.

The "Noyonmoni" famed actress conveyed prayers and respects to the Nayak Raj of Dhallywood on his death anniversary.
