Women’s hockey team bounce back in Oman
Bangladesh women's hockey team registered back-to-back victories in the Women's Hockey5s Asia Cup in Salalah, Oman.
The women in red and green, who started their campaign with a 7-4 defeat against Indonesia on Friday, bounced back by beating Chinese Taipei by 10-5 goals on the same night.
Orpita Pal scored six goals while Riya Afrin scored four for Bangladesh in that victory.
Then the Bangladesh team beat Iran by 9-3 goals in their third match today, with Riya scoring four and Orpita bagging three.
The Bangladesh team are scheduled to take on hosts Oman in their fourth match tonight and will play their last group match against Hong Kong tomorrow.
Bangladesh are playing in the Challenger category of the competition, which features six second-tier teams of the continent.
This is the first international five-a-side appearance for Bangladesh women's team while the last time they appeared in an 11-a-side international hockey tournament was in the AHF Cup in 2018.
