BANFF Mountain Film Festival to kick off in September
After traveling to different parts of the world, the BANFF Mountain Film Festival has finally landed in Dhaka and will officially kick off on September 1 at Bishwo Shahitto Kendro.
Lilly Nicholls, high commissioner for Canada in Bangladesh, will be present at the inaugural ceremony of the festival, which will commence on Friday at 4:30 pm.
This year's event will also screen various world-renowned films on breathtaking adventure and mountaineering.
The festival will screen Jonny Ashworth's "Do a Wheelie" based on the exploits of world famous cyclist Danny MacAskill.
The movie "Walk on the Clouds", helmed by Renan Kamizia, is about Rafael Bridi, a Brazilian who set a world record by walking on a tightrope between two flying balloons. This production will also be showcased at the event.
Apart from that, the Polish director's "Doo Sar: A Karakoram Ski Expedition film", UK producer Nick Rosen's "Bridge Boys", Reel Rock's film "Cenote" will also be screened.
Since 1976, this festival has been held in about 800 cities in 40 countries.
