'Country’s largest' esports tournament finds its Champions

Discovery One, a local esports organisation deemed the "largest" of its kind in Bangladesh, has recently hosted the Grand Finals of its D1 Cup Season 2 event. The event was held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) on September 2. With a total prize pool of BDT 40 lakh, more than 100 teams competed across various segments, showcasing local talent in competitive esports.

The Discovery One Cup Season 2 Grand Finals was title-sponsored by bKash and supported by Mountain Dew, Paramount Venture Capital, and Savoy. The event hosted gaming tournaments of several popular titles: Valorant, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO).

In the Valorant segment, MLT Esports emerged as the champions, securing the coveted title and a cash prize of BDT 8 lakh. The team called Insurgent Tennos came in second place. 

Mobile Legends enthusiasts were treated to a clash between the teams Silverline and Kral's Council. Kral's Council clinched the championship, marking their first-ever victory in the Discovery One Cup and earning a prize of BDT 6 lakh.

As for the CS: GO tournament, the teams Red Viperz and Siuuu Gamers reached the final round. In the end, Red Viperz emerged victorious, walking away with a prize of BDT 5 lakh and cementing their place as the CS: GO champions of the Discovery One Cup Season 2.
