Buses drop off and pick up passengers right at the end of a ramp of the Dhaka Elevated Expressway in the capital’s Banani where vehicles are usually at speed. This increases the risk of people getting run over by vehicles and slows down traffic as well.

Mizan Molla, a resident of Madhupur village in Khulna’s Terokhada upazila, trying to salvage whatever he could from his house, which was recently devoured by the Atai river. Many houses in the village, especially those on the riverbank, were destroyed by continuous erosion, causing locals to panic. The photo was taken yesterday.

A hill with houses erected at its foot was cut in Sylhet’s Baluchar area. During the monsoon, landslides are frequent, and inhabitants living in such houses are at high risk. The photo was taken recently.
