Ranjit becomes first FIBA match commissioner from Bangladesh

Ranjit Chandra Das, a former basketball player turned coach and an executive member of Bangladesh Basketball Federation as well as South Asian Basketball Association, has been nominated as a FIBA Match Commissioner for 2023-2025, said a press release.

The veteran coach undertook and successfully passed a number of exams to get the nomination. 

Ranjit became the first Bangladeshi basketball official to be nominated as an international match commissioner by the FIBA, the world governing body of basketball.

He has worked tirelessly to promote women's basketball in Bangladesh and guided the team in the First South Asian Women's Basketball Championship.
