Momtaz sings for Language Movement-based film
The beloved queen of folk songs, Momtaz Begum, has lent her melodious voice to numerous films, and she continues to do so regularly. Recently, she recorded a song for a new film with a theme close to her heart.
The film is titled "Japito Jibon" and has been directed by Habibul Islam Habib. This government-funded film is based on the renowned literary work "Japito Jibon" by the acclaimed writer Selina Hossain.
Momtaz has lent her voice to the song, titled "Nasib Jetha Niyaa Chole Ami Setha Jai" (Where destiny takes me, I follow), composed by Pintu Ghosh. The lyrics of the song were penned by Asif Iqbal.
"The lyrics and melody are truly exceptional. I believe everyone will enjoy it," expressed the singer.
Director Habibul Islam Habib spoke highly of "Japito Jibon" and Momtaz's contribution to it.
"Japito Jibon" is a cinematic tribute to the 1952 Language Movement that played a crucial role in the birth of our country.
