Argentina sends ‘best wishes’ to Tigers for World Cup campaign
The Argentine Football Association (AFA) extended its best wishes to the Bangladesh cricket team on Friday on the eve of their opening match of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against Afghanistan.
"Best wishes to the Bangladesh cricket team as they embark on their journey to the ICC World Cup 2023. Let the spirit of champions guide you to victory!" read a post shared by the AFA on its official Facebook page.
Bangladesh formed a unique bond with Argentina during last year's FIFA World Cup, when Bangladesh's love for Lionel Messi and the Albiceleste became national news in the South American nation.
Even the heads of the two states exchanged greetings over football and it also led to the reopening of the Argentine Embassy in Dhaka.
The Tigers will begin the World Cup campaign in India in Dharamshala against the Afghans on Saturday. The match will begin at 11:00 am Bangladesh Standard Time.
