Lucky Ali's magical performance in Dhaka
While clouds in Dhaka poured heavy rain across the city yesterday, a domain of nostalgia emanated around Aloki when the familiar voice of Lucky Ali, who holds a special place in the hearts of '90s kids, sang in Dhaka to perform for thousands of audiences in "Leading The Times: Pioneers Across Generations".
There were no seats at Aloki, yet the music lovers in Dhaka, never felt any inkling of fatigue as they waited in anticipation to hear the voices of Lucky Ali, Hasan Raheem and Arnob performing live on Friday.
Incessant rain and horrendous traffic gridlocks couldn't prevent concertgoers from watching the performances of the popular singers who enthralled them with wonderful songs. The concertgoers were presented with glowing bands which eventually lit up the concert arena.
Celebrities including Siam Ahmed, Safa Kabir, Mumtaheena Chowdhury Toya, and Sunidhi Nayak, amongst others also attended the event.
First up, Hasan Raheem performed Coke Studio season 14's popular track "Peechay Hutt". The rapper looked fabulous in a green t-shirt and printed pants. He sang and danced with the audiences while singing some of his popular rap songs.
Next, Arnob sang his popular tracks including "Hariye Giyechi", "Tui Ki Janishna", "Hok Kolorob" and Coke Studio Bangla's season 2 song "Dilaram".
Last but not least, the soulful voice of Lucky Ali rang throughout the scene. The crowd sang along with the singer as he crooned his classic songs including "O Sabnam", "Ek Paal Ka Jeena", "Kyun Chalti Hai Pawan, "Hairat" and "Aa bhi jaa".
Lucky Ali wore a simple black jacket over a white t-shirt for the event. As soon as they began playing "Ek Paal Ka Jeena '', he took off his jacket and gave an invigorating performance along with his band members.
Lucky Ali sang his classic song "O Sanam" twice for the audiences. He said," I would like to sing 'O Sanam' once again with you all as I don't know when we might meet again."
Overall, last night was truly a nostalgic ride for the '90s kids who experienced the magical musician live in Dhaka. When the news about Lucky Ali's concert was announced on Buy Here Now Experience's Facebook page, it created a frenzy all over social media as people were queueing up to buy tickets. However, due to the venue's limitation, the tickets were sold out within an hour after the event's live ticket-selling announcement.
