Shakib Khan gets Indian visa, to begin shooting pan-Indian film

It has been confirmed that Shakib Khan's venture into first pan indian film with the film "Dorod" is back on track. After a brief delay due to visa-related complications, the shooting is set to start in Varanasi, India, from October 27.

Originally, the superstar was scheduled to depart for Mumbai, India, on October 15. The pre-production phase was in full swing with photoshoots, script reading sessions, and look tests arranged in Mumbai. However, the trip to India had to be postponed as the visa didn't arrive on time.

The latest news reveals that Shakib Khan and the rest of the team secured their visas on Sunday night.

Producer Kamal Kibria and the director of the film, Anonno Mamun have confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

"Shakib Khan got his visa on Sunday night. Even though there was a delay in getting the visa, our work did not stop. The team is working in Varanasi. We are also doing script reading session with Sonal Chauhan in Mumbai," said Anonno Mamun.

"The way the country's biggest star has supported me, has given me courage. He just asked me to do it with my heart. I also want to repay that faith with work," he added.

The film "Dorod" is being jointly produced by SK Movies, One World Movies, Bangladesh's Action Cut Entertainment, and Kibria Films. In addition to Shakib Khan, the film features other Bangladeshi actors such as Shahiduzzaman Selim, Elina Shammi, Jessia Islam, and India's Rahul Dev in key roles. The film is being made in four languages: Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam.
