AL MP seeks black money investment in stock market
Ruling Awami League MP Noor Mohammed from Jamalpur-1 demanded in parliament today that the government allow investment of black money in the stock market.
He made this demand during the general discussion on the proposed budget for fiscal 2024-25, which began yesterday.
He said as the stock market has been at a low point for the last two months, allowing black money to be invested will help in the share market's recovery.
Noor requested the finance minister to reconsider the proposed 25 percent tax on imported cars for MPs, particularly for new MPs.
Meanwhile, Nilufar Anjum, a lawmaker from Mymensingh-3, highlighted the high unemployment rate among educated youth and requested a temporary allowance for them before they secure jobs or start businesses.
She also suggested that the budget would be more humane if it included subsidies for sanitary napkins.
