Export and import activities between Bangladesh and India through Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria will remain suspended for four days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, one of the largest Muslim festivals.

Trade activities through the port will remain closed from June 16 to June 19 for the Eid holidays, said Md Shafiqul Islam, general secretary of Akhaura Land Port Importers-Exporters Association.

However, cross-border travel will continue through the immigration check post of the land port during this time, he added.

"Trade activities will resume at the land port on June 20."
