Power, energy companies' boards to have student members
Student representatives will be appointed to the boards of directors of companies under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, said the concerned ministry's adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan today.
He said the secretaries should not hold positions of chairmen of the companies under the ministry as it raises the conflict of interests.
The adviser made these remarks at a discussion with the officials of the ministry, companies and agencies at an auditorium at Petrobangla.
He urged the officials to act after understanding the philosophy of the current interim government. "You [officials] should understand what the situation will be if you don't understand the language of the streets. You should feel the people's expectation of changes."
Energy secretary Nurul Alam, Petrobangla Chairman Zanendra Nath Sarker, BPC chairman Amin Ul Ahsan and others joined the meeting.
