6 die from dengue in 24 hrs

At least six dengue patients died, and 1,083 were hospitalised across the country in 24 hours till this morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

Among the deaths, two were reported in Chattogram division and one each from Dhaka division (outside the city corporation), Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka South City Corporation, and Mymensingh division.

Dengue in Bangladesh: A persistent health challenge

With these new deaths and cases, the total number of dengue fatalities this year has risen to 421 and the total number of dengue cases to 81,068, with 48,244 cases reported outside Dhaka.

Currently, 4,008 patients are undergoing treatment, of whom 2,355 are from outside Dhaka.

So far, 76,639 patients have recovered, with 45,734 recoveries reported from outside Dhaka.
