The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will sell potatoes at subsidised rates alongside essential goods in Dhaka metropolitan area from Wednesday.

Consumers in Dhaka can purchase up to 3 kilogrammes (kg) of potatoes at Tk 40 per kg through 50 trucks deployed across the city.

The initiative, launched under the commerce ministry's directive, aims to ease costs for low-income households amid rising food prices.

A single individual can buy up to 2 litres of cooking oil at Tk 100 per litre, 2 kilogrammes of lentils at Tk 60 per kilogram, and up to 5 kilogrammes of rice at Tk 30 per kilogramme.\
