Two persons were killed as a bus hit their motorbike on the Dhaka-Pabna highway in the Boalia area in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj yesterday morning.

The deceased were identified as Shariful Islam, 25, of Matikata village in the upazila, and Naimur Rahman, 22, of Ratankandi village in Shahjadpur upazila.

Md Abdur Rouf, officer-in-charge of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station, said the Dhaka-bound bus hit the bike around 9:00am, leaving the two riders dead on the spot.

Police and fire fighters rushed the spot and recovered body of the victims.

The bus driver managed to flee from the scene. But police are trying to arrest him, the OC said.
