OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT Pro, a new subscription model priced at $200 per month, aimed at professionals in research and engineering. According to the company, this new plan provides users with access to OpenAI's most advanced tools and features, designed to handle complex computational tasks and reasoning.

The subscription includes unlimited access to the o1 model, o1-mini, GPT-4o, and Advanced Voice, states an official blog post by OpenAI. A notable feature is the 'o1 pro' mode, which utilises additional computational resources to deliver more accurate and detailed responses for challenging tasks, such as data science, coding, and legal analysis.

According to OpenAI, evaluations indicate that the 'o1 pro' mode performs better than 'o1' and 'o1-preview' on advanced machine learning benchmarks in subjects like mathematics, science, and programming. The plan targets researchers and professionals who require high-level computational capabilities in their work.

ChatGPT Pro is positioned alongside OpenAI's other subscription tiers, including ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Enterprise. The company stated that it plans to add more compute-intensive features to the Pro tier over time while also incorporating some of these capabilities into other subscription options.
