BNP’s associate bodies submit memorandum to Indian mission

A six-member delegation comprising the presidents and secretaries of Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal submitted a memorandum to the Indian High Commissioner around 1:00 pm today.

The memorandum was submitted protesting several incidents, including the attack on the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Agartala, the desecration of the Bangladeshi national flag in Kolkata, and an alleged conspiracy to incite communal unrest.

The delegation submitted memorandum to the Indian mission after the protest march brought out by thousands of leaders and activists of Jubo Dal, Swechchasebak Dal, and Chhatra Dal was resisted by police near Rampura Bridge around 12:35pm, leading to significant traffic disruptions from Badda towards Notun Bazar.

Heavy traffic congestion was still observed in the area while this report was being filed at around 1:15pm.

The march started at 11:30am from the party's central office in Nayapaltan. However, they were halted by barricades set up by police on the road that leads towards Badda.

Earlier, in the morning, the party leaders and activists started gathering outside the party's headquarters in Nayapaltan in small processions from various parts of the capital, chanting slogans, including calls for the boycott of India.

Law enforcement personnel were deployed in Nayapaltan area to maintain security and monitor the situation.
