Amazon has officially entered the online car sales market with the launch of Amazon Autos, an e-commerce platform enabling customers to search for, order, and purchase new vehicles directly from dealerships.

The service debuted on December 10 in partnership with Hyundai and is available in 48 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and New York. Amazon has announced plans to expand the service to additional cities and include more automakers in 2025.

Through Amazon Autos, shoppers can browse vehicles by model, trim, colour, and features, as well as arrange financing and e-sign paperwork online. Once the transaction is complete, buyers can schedule a pick-up at the designated dealership. Hyundai dealers currently act as the sellers of record, and the platform also facilitates trade-ins.

Amazon has also emphasised a no-haggle pricing model, informing customers that the price displayed at checkout includes all taxes and fees, removing the traditional negotiation process.
