Inflation pushes 78 lakh people into poverty in two years, says RAPID
Real income reductions caused by ongoing inflationary pressure over the past two years have pushed at least 78 lakh people into poverty, including 38 lakh who have become extremely poor.
This was revealed at a workshop organised by the Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID) at the CIRDAP auditorium in the capital today.
Additionally, 1 crore more people are at risk of falling below the poverty line due to continued inflationary pressures.
