Watch Live: ‘Shobar Agey Bangladesh’ concert kicks off at Manik Mia Avenue

As part of the annual Victory Month celebrations, an open-air concert, titled "Shobar Agey Bangladesh" (Bangladesh First), has just kicked off in the capital, promising a spectacular evening of music and cultural pride.

Currently taking place at Manik Mia Avenue, the concert is scheduled to run till 11pm today, bringing together some of the country's most celebrated artistes and performers.

The concert, a key initiative by the BNP, aims to commemorate Victory Day while promoting Bangladeshi music and heritage. Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, joint secretary general of the BNP, highlighted the event's significance during a press conference titled "Bangladesh Comes First," held last Tuesday at Uday Tower in Gulshan. He emphasised the importance of nurturing national identity and countering foreign cultural influences through platforms like this concert.

A major highlight of the evening is the performance by legendary rock icon James, who is making a much-anticipated return to the open-air concert scene in Bangladesh.

Another standout moment of the event is the return of Baby Nazneen to the Bangladeshi stage after a 15-year hiatus. The beloved singer's absence from the local cultural scene, stemming from political challenges that led her to reside in the United States, has left a void in Bangladeshi music. Her return for this special occasion has been met with widespread excitement, making her performance one of the most anticipated of the evening.

The concert also features a stellar roster of performers, including celebrated artistes like Kanak Chapa, Asif Akbar, Monir Khan, Aleya Begum, Khurshid Alam, Pritom, Xefer, Imran, and Kona. While folk performers will add a vibrant touch to the evening, popular bands such as Different Touch, Ark, and Rafa are also scheduled to take the stage to further energise the audience with their dynamic performances.
