The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced its plans to increase the number of players under contract in the pool of women cricketers, BCB boss Faruque Ahmed told reporters after a board meeting in Mirpur on Saturday. 

The national pool already has around 25 cricketers under contract and the BCB will extend that pool by introducing first-class contracts for 30 more players, replicating the model for the men in the country's cricketing structure.

Faruque had more news for the women cricketers as he said that the Tigresses will now be receiving performance-based bonuses just like the Tigers. 

"We have central contracts for the women cricketers in the national pool. In addition to that, we will bring in 30 more cricketers under contract. It'll be like the men's cricketers; we have contracts for players who play in the national league. So, we will start that for the women as well," Faruque announced at a press conference at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday.

"We have set a winning bonus for the women. This is new. As you all know, it's a ranking-based system. If they beat the top three-ranked sides, there is a certain amount that is given as a bonus and if they beat 4, 5, and 6-ranked sides, the amount is different. It will be the same for the women. The amount will be different between the men and women but they (Tigresses) will get a bonus."

Faruque also announced a reward that will see each member of the Bangladesh Under-19 team, including officials and coaching staff, receive Tk 3 lakhs for winning the ACC U-19 Men's Asia Cup earlier this month.
