Today (January 5) marks the birthday of multiple National Film Award-winning actor Shahiduzzaman Selim. On this special occasion, he is spending quality time with his family. "I'm at home for my birthday, spending time with everyone. It's been a wonderful day," he shared.

He added, "For my birthday, my sisters and their families have come over. We all had a great time together, creating beautiful memories."

Recalling birthdays during his youth, this said, "I used to avoid scheduling shoots on my birthday, so I could spend time with my family or go on trips. However, in recent years, I haven't been able to do so. Shoots often coincide with the day. Even today, I'm heading to Syedpur for one."

Looking back at his childhood memories, Selim reminisced, "Celebrating birthdays has always been a family tradition, even from a young age. My parents made the day special. Those memories are still vivid in my mind."

When asked about the love he receives from people on his birthday, he expressed, "The strength of love that I receive from fans and well-wishers is unparalleled. It's heartwarming to know people appreciate me and my work—it means a lot to me."

Meanwhile, the actor has already started working on new projects this year. Until January 3, he was shooting for a drama titled "Dena-Paona".

Selim is currently shooting for the film "Daagi", directed by Shihab Shaheen. "The shooting of this project will take place in two phases," he explained. "I'm heading for the first lot now, and later, we'll do the second."

About his role in "Daagi", Selim revealed, "I'm playing antagonist, Ranjit Singh. It's a story set in a border region, and I'm hopeful for the character."

Throughout his long career, Shahiduzzaman Selim has acted in countless dramas, been associated with the Dhaka Theatre troupe for many years, performed on stage, worked in OTT platforms, directed plays and stage productions.

When asked if there's any unfulfilled desire on his end, he replied, "No, I don't have any regrets. I've had the opportunity to portray diverse characters in various stories, and for that, I'm content."

On his 64th birthday, the actor only hopes to remain in the hearts of the audience. "With the love of people, I want to keep acting for many more years," he concluded.
