BCB president Faruque Ahmed acknowledged today that there was perhaps differences in opinion with BCB director Nazmul Abedeen Fahim but informed that he was not aware the Fahim might resign from his role as BCB director.

The BCB president talked to reporters today at Sylhet and with the highlight of the day being news regarding his altercation with Fahim, Faruque fielded questions on the matter. There was news that Fahim had wanted to resign.

Both the BCB president and Fahim are in Sylhet today and the BCB president relayed that the situation has been resolved.

"He didn't want to resign, he said that it was difficult to work. I haven't heard that he wanted to resign. Anyway, I have talked to Fahim bhai and already there was Jamuna TV there at the hotel and Fahim bhai was with me when I talked to them ," Faruque told reporters at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

"When someone says new board, it means Fahim bhai and me since everyone else was there from before. When there is a lack of manpower and high intensity of work, we have to keep focus on a variety of things. So there could be misunderstanding. Maybe because of that he felt he wasn't able to work properly," Faruque said.

In a separate media conference, Faruque had also spoken about communication gap.

"Since we are both new directors we have tried to do maximum number of things. It could be that at the end there some communication gap could have taken place. There are times I have to take urgent decisions and sometimes communication gaps can happen," he informed.

Reports in the media said that there was an altercation between Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud's personal officer and the BCB president at the president's box during the opening day of matches in the BPL on December 30. The BCB president relayed that it was not the best of days for him and there could be differences of opinion with someone from the BCB  during a tough scenario.

"From the morning we had our opening ceremony [BPL]. Our advisor could not come on the day we had the pigeon release ceremony. There was pressure for availability of tickets.  Not my best day as president and there was an incident at the president's box too. I had said no comments on that one and still saying no comments [on incident at president's box]. Everything concerned, the situation wasn't very good [that day]. So at that time there was something…maybe at that time what I had said to whom…but you have remember that it's normal within an organisation to have differences in opinion.

The BCB president however put forward that the situation with Fahim has been resolved.

"Fahim bhai is my senior player, very senior and maybe he was dissatisfied. Maybe I said something he didn't like. Fahim bhai is fine now and I believe anything can be solved through discussion. Fahim bhai didn't want to talk today [with media in Sylhet] but he was beside and he agreed that we resolved the situation," Faruque concluded.
