The highly anticipated film "Bildakini", starring prominent Bangladeshi actor Mosharraf Karim and Indian actress Parno Mittra, unfolds the gripping tale of a mother fiercely battling to not only protect her child but also assert her right to motherhood in a society that questions her very identity. This powerful maternal resilience and societal defiance narrative promises to strike a deep chord with audiences.

Directed by Fazlul Kabir Tuhin and based on a novel by Nuruddin Jahangir, this Bangladeshi film is a powerful narrative of survival, societal conflict, and individual resistance. The movie's poster was unveiled on January 10, in the presence of lead actor Mosharraf Karim.

Speaking at the event, Mosharraf Karim shared his deep attachment to the film. "This is one of my favourite films. The reason is simple—it speaks about our society, problems, and how to overcome them. It portrays the journey of how people can lose their humanity and yet find ways to reclaim it. I am personally satisfied and fulfilled by my performance in this film. I want everyone to watch this movie, not just because you like me, but because it's our story, our cinema."

Karim plays the role of Manik Majhi, a character that resonates deeply within the rural and societal context of Bangladesh. He is joined by Parno Mittra, an actress from Kolkata, who takes on the role of Hanufa. The story is told primarily from Hanufa's perspective, centring on her struggles as a rural woman against an oppressive society that seeks to strip her of her rights. While Parno Mittra couldn't attend the poster unveiling, the event was celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony, handled by the film's director Fazlul Kabir Tuhin, and producers Momin Khan, Sheikh Mahbub, and Uzzal Mahmud.

Director Tuhin described the film as a portrayal of an "indomitable fight for a woman's right to motherhood." He elaborated, "It's a story around Hanufa, but the film also features a powerful antagonist—an influential man who exploits and terrorises the local villagers, seizing their lands and sending them to jail. Mosharraf and Parno's characters unite to challenge this figure, which leads to the film's climactic moments."

The movie is inspired by the experiences of Nuruddin Jahangir, the story's original writer, who spent time in the Naogaon region during his career. His observations of rural life, particularly the hardships faced by villagers under the rule of oppressive landlords, provided the foundation for "Bildakini".

The film highlights not just external struggles but also the inner emotional conflicts of these villagers. The audience can expect a vivid depiction of the rural Bangladeshi experience, a blend of sorrow, resilience, and the unyielding strength of love.

Responding to questions about casting Parno Mittra instead of a local actress, Tuhin explained, "I did consider a few Bangladeshi actresses alongside Parno. But after speaking with her, I felt she truly understood and connected with the character. Everything fell into place, and we knew she was the right choice."

Produced with funding from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of Bangladesh, "Bildakini" features an ensemble cast that includes Shahjahan Samrat, Lutfor Rahman George, Shilpi Sharkar Apu, Rashid Harun, Habib Masud, Aynun Nahar Putul, Yusuf Hasan Arko, Mahbubur Rahman, Tithi, and Mehedi Hasan Somen.

Filming for "Bildakini" took place in several locations, including Naogaon, Natore, and the Bangladesh Central Jail. The film is set to release on January 24.
