Mohul Chakraborty, the lead vocalist of Golok, discovered Chandramouli Biswas' body and immediately informed locals and the police. Mohul explained, "Biswas hadn't been answering my calls since morning, which made me concerned. I contacted a close friend of his, and together we went to his home, where we found him deceased. This is a tremendous loss for the Bengal music industry." Chandramouli had left a career in engineering, to follow his passion for music.

According to the police, the initial investigation indicated that Chandramouli had been struggling with depression for several years due to financial difficulties. Officers spoke to his relatives and friends, who confirmed that he had been battling depression and was undergoing treatment. A suicide note was discovered, in which he stated that no one was to blame for his death. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the handwriting on the note is being verified.

Fossils manager Rupsha Dasgupta shared that Chandramouli was a member of the band from 2000 to 2018. Initially joining as a guitarist, he later transitioned to playing bass. She explained that he left the band in 2018 due to health issues.

Rupsha stated, "Chandra had a massive following among young fans, and his untimely death is truly shocking. Beyond being an exceptional musician, he was incredibly cheerful and connected effortlessly with people from all walks of life."

"Chandra was a brilliant student and engineer from JU who gave up everything to pursue music," said Rupsha. "He performed with us for over 15 years and was an integral part of the band."

"I spoke to Allen, and Rupam and the other members are heartbroken," added Rupsha. The band heard the news while they were on their way to Kalyani to perform a concert. During the event, the band paid a special tribute to Chandramouli.

"While travelling to Kalyani for the concert, we heard the news of Chandramouli's demise, and that news completely jolted us. We are heartbroken, and it was really difficult for us to perform today."

"Chandra was a member of our band for a long time, and I was really close to him. We were supposed to talk about some songs together but I don't think I will ever be able to talk about those songs in future. Today, we will perform in a way where we will continue to remember his memories. May he be happy wherever his soul resides," stated Rupam Islam.

Chandramouli Biswas is survived by his parents.

Fossils, a rock band founded by singer Rupam Islam in 1998, brought a new wave of rock music to West Bengal. The band's popular tracks include "Neel Rang Chhilo Bhishan Priyo", "Tomar Chokher Kalo", "Kamlo Megheder Ojan", and "Aro Ekber", amongst others.
