PSL 2025 Draft: Zalmi pick Rana, no takers for Shakib and Mustafizur

Bangladesh's speedster Nahid Rana has been picked by Peshwar Zalmi in the ongoing players draft for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League, set to begin in April.

Rana, who has spent less than a year in international cricket and is yet to debut in T20Is, has already grabbed global attention with his raw pace.

He troubled the Pakistani batters with his pace in Bangladesh's two-Test series in Rawalpindi last year, and clearly made a lasting impression as the Zalmi franchise raised their paddle to secure the services of the right-arm fast bowler from the Gold category.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh opener Liton Das was roped in by Karachi Kings, a day after he hit a 55-ball 125, having reached his century in 44 balls which became the fastest ton by a Bangladesh player in Bangladesh Premier League history.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was the third player to get picked as Lahore Qalandars opted to bring in the 22-year-old.

Around 30 Bangladesh players have registered for the PSL draft this year. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and pacer Mustazfizur Rahman, both of whom are in the most expensive Platinum category, have gone unpicked.

The draft is taking place in Lahore.
