Chittagong crush Khulna in homecoming

A century from Graham Clark and a three-wicket haul from Arafat Sunny guided Chittagong Kings to a commanding 45-run win over Khulna Tigers in the first day of the Chattogram phase of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) today.

Clark scored 101 off just 50 balls with the help of seven fours and six sixes while opener Parvez Hossain Emon made 39 off 29 as Chittagong posted 200-7 in their 20 overs after being asked to bat first.

Khulna's Pakistani recruits Salman Irshad and Mohmmad Nawaz took a couple of wickets each.

In reply, Khulna's run chase never got going, as they lost three wickets in the Powerplay and eventually finished on 155-9 in 20 overs.

Khulna's Afghan recruit Darwish Rasooli made 37 off 31 balls while Nawaz (25 off 20) and Afif Hossain (20 off 15) got into 20s, but all of them failed to kick on.

Off-spinner Arafat finished as the most successful bowler with figures of 3-25 while pacers Shoriful Islam and Khaled Ahmed took a couple of wickets each.

This was Chittagong's fourth straight win and Khulna's fourth straight loss in the tournament.

With the win, Chittagong have jumped one spot to the second position with 10 points in five games while Khulna are fourth with four points from six games.
