Mild cold wave likely in parts of the country by Tuesday: BMD
A mild cold wave may sweep over one or two locations of the country by Tuesday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).
"Temperatures are expected to fall starting Sunday, and this may continue until Tuesday," Afruza Sultana, assistant meteorologist of BMD told The Daily Star.
Night and day temperatures may rise slightly over the country today and tomorrow. However, in the 24 hours beginning 9:00am Saturday, night temperatures are expected to drop by 1 to 3 Degrees Celsius, while day temperatures may experience a slight decline, said the Met office bulletin.
Baghabari in Sirajganj recorded the lowest temperature in the country today at 10.7 Degrees Celsius, while Dhaka's minimum temperature stood at 13.8 Degrees Celsius.
In its forecast for the next 72 hours, BMD predicts dry weather with partly cloudy skies across the country. Additionally, moderate to thick fog is expected in some areas late at night and in the early morning, which may persist until noon in certain places.
"Thick fog may temporarily disrupt air navigation, inland river transport, and road communication," the bulletin said .
Light to moderate fog is also forecast during late-night to morning hours over the next two days.
