'Rongona' filming on track, confirms Shabnur
After months of speculation surrounding the fate of the film "Rongona", iconic Bangladeshi actress Shabnur has broken her silence. Last year, Shabnur returned to the country to kickstart the shooting of this much-anticipated film by Arafat Hossain.
However, after completing the initial phase of filming, she returned to Australia, leaving fans and the media in the dark about the film's progress. Recently, rumours circulated that she had exited the project, sparking widespread confusion.
Taking to social media, Shabnur addressed the situation directly, urging her followers not to fall for misinformation. In a Facebook post, she clarified, "Please do not believe any news about my films unless you hear it directly from me. And kindly refrain from getting confused by anyone's statements."
Meanwhile, Arafat Hossain, the film's director, confirmed that "Rongona" is still very much alive. "The final phase of shooting will begin soon. We are in regular contact with Shabnur apa, and once she returns, we'll move forward according to our filming plan," he said, putting an end to speculation.
Hossain also pointed to a deeper issue: a deliberate attempt to derail the film. "Since the announcement of the film, a certain group has been trying to halt the project. This has led to baseless comments being spread on social media. I request everyone not to believe these rumours," he added.
For him, "Rongona" is more than just a film — it's Shabnur's grand return to the big screen — and presenting her in the right way is a significant responsibility.
"Our production house is dedicated to ensuring there is no flaw in the film. Even if it takes more time than previously scheduled, we are committed to delivering a quality product," Hossain affirmed.
