Naogaon records lowest temperature of 8.6 degrees today

The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) recorded the country's lowest temperature of 8.6 degrees Celsius in Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon today.

Dhaka's minimum temperature stood at 13.6 degrees Celsius this morning, according to BMD's latest weather bulletin.

A mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Chuadanga, Pabna, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Moulvibazar, and the Baghabari region of Sirajganj. The cold wave is likely to continue, with minimum temperatures in these areas recorded at 10 degrees Celsius or below.

BMD has forecast a slight drop in temperatures over the southern region tonight, while elsewhere in the country, temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. Daytime temperatures may also drop slightly.

For tomorrow, both day and night temperatures are expected to remain steady across the country. However, the night after tomorrow may see a rise in night temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius, along with a slight increase in daytime temperatures.

In its 72-hour forecast starting at 9:00am today, BMD predicted dry weather with partly cloudy skies over the country.

For the next 24 hours, light to moderate fog is expected during late night to morning across the country. Additionally, moderate to thick fog may form in river basins, while light to moderate fog may prevail elsewhere during late night to morning over the next 48 hours.
