Legendary singer Sabina Yasmin, who was performing at a corpo-rate tribute event at a hotel in Dhaka, collapsed in the middle of her set around 8:15pm yesterday.

Sabina, a cancer survivor, was supposed to make her return to music through the tribute show, "Ami Achi Thakbo."

After singing the titular song, she suddenly blacked out and fell on the stage.

The singer was taken to a hospital where she is receiving treatment. According to the doctors, she is stabe now.

"While performing, my mother felt a mild pain in her head and collapsed. She was rushed to a hospital where she is currently receiving treatment," her daughter, Fairooz Yasmeen Badhan,  told The Daily Star last night.

"I've spoken to her, and she is doing well now. She will be taken home once the doctors finish their treatment," she added.

Sabina's illustrious career has been recognised with 14 National Film Awards. The government has honoured her with Ekushey Padak and the Independence Award.
