Bangladesh Poverty Map 2022 unveiled

A report, "Bangladesh Poverty Map 2022", has been unveiled recently.
At the event, speakers highlighted the significance of the "Bangladesh Poverty Map 2022" initiative, stating that the data compiled by Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) would greatly contribute to formulating accurate development plans and poverty alleviation strategies, said a press release.
The report, which was prepared by BBS' Poverty and Livelihood Statistics Cell, was revealed at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre on Thursday.
Mahbub Hossain, secretary of the Statistics and Informatics Division, was present there as the chief guest.
Simone Lawson Parchment, deputy country director of WFP, Bangladesh; and Amer Ahmed, acting operations manager and programme leader, Human Development for Bangladesh & Bhutan, World Bank; attended as special guests.
The event was chaired by Mizanur Rahman, director general of BBS. Its Deputy Director Mohammad Obaidul Islam delivered the welcome speech.
