Seeing my daughter’s excitement for Eid is lovely: Badhan on her festive plans

As the festive celebration of Eid fills the air, Azmeri Haque Badhan, one of the most beloved faces in the entertainment world, is embracing the spirit of celebration with her family in Dhaka. While her schedule as an actress often leaves little room for downtime, this year's Eid will be spent soaking in moments of joy and togetherness with her loved ones.

"Eid means joy, and I want to share that joy with my family," Badhan tells The Daily Star, her voice filled with warmth and anticipation. For her, this Eid will be extra special as her daughter will be by her side, filling their home with the same excitement Badhan once felt during her own childhood celebrations.
"I used to make big plans for Eid as a child," she reflects. "Now, I see that same excitement in my daughter, which feels lovely." These moments of shared tradition and nostalgia serve as a reminder of how the festival of Eid continues to evolve across generations, connecting us with our roots while creating new memories.

For Badhan, Dhaka during Eid offers a rare sense of calm, as the usually bustling city slows down. "During Eid, Dhaka becomes quiet and peaceful," she says, relishing the serenity that comes with the holiday. "One thing I enjoy about Eid in the city is the absence of traffic."
This year, Badhan plans to stay home, cherishing quality time with her parents and daughter. "If my family decides to go somewhere together, I'll join them as well," she adds, leaving room for spontaneous plans that may arise in the spirit of Eid.
Her heart is full of gratitude, and she shares a heartfelt wish for those travelling to their hometowns: "I wish them a safe journey and a joyful Eid."
