Stocks rebound in early trade after seven-day slump

Stocks on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) edged up in morning trade today, snapping a seven-day losing streak.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 14.14 points, or 0.28 percent, to reach 5,040.71 as of 11:26 am.
The Shariah-based DSES index advanced 0.38 percent to 1,126.17, while the DS30, which represents blue-chip stocks, rose 0.44 percent to 1,868.10.
Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, stood at Tk 92.78 crore during the session.
Of the 395 issues traded, 179 advanced, 103 declined, and 104 remained unchanged.
Sonali Life Insurance Company emerged as the day's top gainer, rising over 6 percent, whereas shares of Beach Hatchery dropped 9 percent, the highest fall.
