Bangladesh ‘A’ crush New Zealand 'A' in 1st one-dayer

Bangladesh 'A' team outclassed the New Zealand 'A' team in the first one-dayer of a three-match series, registering a dominating seven-wicket win at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium today.
The bowling attack set up the match for the hosts, as pacer player-of-the-match Khaled Ahmed and spinner Tanvir Islam took three wickets each while Shoriful Islam and Ebadot Hossain equally shared the remaining four wickets to bundle out the tourists for just 147 in 34.3 overs.
A total of five New Zealand batters were dismissed for ducks and only two New Zealand 'A' batters – Rhys Mariu (42) and Dean Foxcroft (72) – got into double figures with the latter forming a 63-run partnership for the last wicket with Ben Lister (four) to ensure the tourists crossed the 100-run mark.
In reply, Mahidul Islam Ankon remained unbeaten on 42, Anamul Haque Bijoy made 38 and Nurul Hasan Sohan made 20 not out as Bangladesh 'A' reached 149-3 in 27.2 overs.
Earlier, New Zealand 'A' had won the toss and opted to bat first.
The next match of the series will be played at the same venue on Wednesday.
