Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that the board is unaware of Mustafizur Rahman's call-up to the Indian Premier League (IPL).

IPL side Delhi Capitals announced the signing of The Fizz for INR 6 crores today as a replacement for Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk.

"Mustafizur is supposed to go with the team to the UAE according to the schedule. We have not received any communication from IPL officials. I am not sure whether Mustafizur has asked for any NOC either," Nizamuddin told The Daily Star today.

A source close to the Delhi Capitals team told The Daily Star today that the franchise will communicate with the BCB about Mustafizur's availability by tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Mustafizur joined the second contingent of Bangladesh players heading for the UAE earlier today for their two-match T20I series against the hosts, beginning on May 17 in Sharjah. The second match will also be played at the same venue on May 19.

After that, the Tigers are scheduled to play a five-match T20I series against Pakistan from May 27 to June 3, with matches to be held in Faisalabad and Lahore.

If allowed to join the Delhi Capitals, Mustafizur will get to play three group-stage matches for the franchise. Number of matches may increase if Delhi can progress into the knockouts of the tournament.

Delhi host Gujarat on May 18 followed by away matches at Mumbai and Punjab on May 21 and 24, respectively.
