A journey that began almost two decades ago, Aysha Rahman Monica, the multi-talented artiste, has made her mark not only as a television presenter but also as an actress. Over the years, she has earned praise for her confident and engaging presence as a presenter on various television channels.

In addition to her appearances in numerous television dramas, Monica made her silver screen debut in Dhrubo Hasan's "Fatima", a film that received international acclaim and won several awards. Reflecting on her experience portraying the character Sultana in "Fatima", Monica expressed her excitement about yet another big-screen role this Eid. In the upcoming film "Insaaf", directed by Sanjoy Somadder, she will be seen in a cameo role as a journalist.

"After working with Dhrubo Hasan, I have collaborated with Sanjoy Somadder, and the experience has been quite good," she shared.

Monica made her acting debut in 2009 with Rehena Samdani's television drama "Hariye Khuji", and since then, she has acted in several dramas and television films, including "Warishnama", "Otopor", "Rod", "Joltorongo", and "Grihobodhu Shundori", among many others.

Among all of her works, "Muthophone" was one of the special works, as she not only acted in this, but she also directed it and was involved in writing the script of the project.

Apart from her contributions in the cultural arena, Monica has been actively working with underprivileged children since 2011. In addition, she was also honoured with the Global Youth Leadership Award 2023, held in Dubai.

"Since 2007, my journey has gradually unfolded in the entertainment industry, working as an actress and model alongside my career as a presenter. I feel blessed to have worked with directors like Giasuddin Selim and Suman Anowar, particularly in television fiction. I have also collaborated with filmmakers such as Adnan Al Rajeev, Amitabh Reza Chowdhury, Redoan Rony, and Mejbaur Rahman Sumon in several television commercials."

Her creative involvement extends behind the camera as well. In 2014, Monica worked as a casting director for the BBC Media Action produced series "Ujan Ganger Naiya", which aired to critical acclaim.

Hailing from Sirajganj, Monica grew up in a family rooted in the creative arts. Her uncle is the renowned filmmaker Ibne Mizan, and her aunt, Mokbula Manzoor, is an acclaimed author. "The eagerness to explore the media industry has been with me since childhood, as I grew up in such an environment," she said.

"From writing scripts to direction, and finally acting—all of these grew as passions that still brew within me. Frankly speaking, after 18 years in this industry, I now want to focus more on acting. The medium is not important; it could be television, OTT, or film."

Speaking about her role in "Fatima", Monica described Sultana as a character close to her heart. "Sultana is like an elder sister to Fatima (played by Tasnia Farin). She's a mentor who provides shelter and emotional support. Their chemistry creates a breathing space in the film, even as they are surrounded by tension and struggle. After the film's screening, many praised my performance, and that felt incredibly rewarding."

Apart from her acting career, Monica has also made a name for herself as a skilled host. From live music programmes to grand stage shows, she has consistently impressed audiences with her commanding presence. "Hosting stage shows in front of 30,000 people, including events featuring legends like Azam Khan, Ayub Bachchu, and Miles, is something I will cherish forever," she said.

Adding yet another feather to her cap, Monica participated in the Celebrity Cricket Trophy (CCT) this year. Not only did she take part, but she also won the "Highest Boundary" trophy and was named "Woman of the Match".

Recently, she had a unique experience shooting for a commercial under the direction of Shakeeb Fahad, which required her to dance in front of the camera for the first time. "It was interesting to dance on camera, especially after taking training from a choreographer. This commercial will be released soon," she revealed.

With her calm, committed approach and an enduring passion for performance, Aysha Rahman Monica continues to leave her mark on Bangladesh's creative scene—quietly, but distinctly.
