Every morning, a large fish market operates near the Jatrabari Police Station on the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway, considered the country’s economic lifeline. Truckloads of jackfruits arrive at Sylhet city’s main fruit market every day. Around 100 trucks roll in from across the country and the seasonal fruit is then distributed to retail markets in Sylhet and Sunamganj. Good supply has also brought prices down, making the fruit more affordable.
