‘Insaaf 2’ set for release next year

Following the success of "Insaaf", director Sanjoy Somadder has officially announced that work on "Insaaf 2" is underway, with a targeted release slated for next year's Eid-ul-Azha. The sequel promises to be bigger in scale, continuing the story with the original cast, including Mosharraf Karim, Sariful Razz, Tasnia Farin, and Chanchal Chowdhury — whose character will now be significantly utilised.
Sanjoy revealed that scriptwriting is currently in progress, with Nazim Ud Daula, Swarup Dey, and himself once again collaborating on the screenplay. While the core cast from the first film remains, an additional female lead is expected to join — though her identity remains under wraps for now.
"This time, the story will unfold on a much broader canvas," said Sanjoy. "In the first part, Mosharraf Karim's character, Dr Shamsher, had only an introductory role. In 'Insaaf 2', his revolutionary backstory will come to light. We have many more ideas in development and will reveal them gradually."
Sanjoy also confirmed that the film's budget has increased significantly compared to its predecessor, making an Eid release essential. "The production house has already given me the green light. With nearly a year ahead, I'm confident we can deliver a polished and powerful project," he said.
"Given the way audiences embraced the first instalment, I believe 'Insaaf 2' will be even better received," he expressed.
