14 arrested over attacks, clashes in Gopalganj

At least 14 people have been arrested so far in connection with yesterday's attack on the National Citizen Party's (NCP) "July March" in Gopalganj and subsequent clashes with law enforcers.

Abdullah Al Mamun, inspector (investigation) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station, confirmed the development to The Daily Star.

"The joint forces handed over the 14 individuals to us," he said, adding that filing of cases is underway.

AL attack on NCP rally venue: Four killed as violence grips Gopalganj

At least four people were killed and dozens injured in daylong running battles between law enforcers and Awami League followers in Gopalganj yesterday.

Following the clashes, the government enforced a curfew from 8:00pm yesterday until 6:00pm today to bring the situation under control.
