Two more victims of Milestone jet crash released from hospital

Two more people injured in the Uttara Milestone School and College jet crash were released from hospital today, bringing the total number of discharged patients to four.
Kazi Amzad Said, 20, and Sabuja Begum, 40, were released from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, the institute's Director Prof Dr Nasir Uddin said at a press briefing around 3:00pm.
Amzad was injured while trying to rescue others during the crash, while Sabuja Begum worked as a caregiver (Aya) at the school.
As of now, 34 patients, including 28 children, remain admitted to the institute, the director said.
Among them, four are in critical condition and receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while nine others are in the "severe" category.
Six of the admitted patients have burn injuries covering over 30 percent of their bodies, the director said.
"Each day, unit heads talk to the patients twice and provide psychological support," Dr Nasir said, adding that more patients are expected to be released in the coming days based on their recovery.
Yesterday, two 12-year-old students—Ayan Khan and Rafsi—were also discharged from the hospital.
The jet crash, which took place on July 21 at the school compound in Dhaka's Uttara, killed at least 34 persons, mostly the school student.
